Dawson County High School’s wrestling season came to its official end on Friday, Feb. 17, with junior Luke Lowe making an appearance at the Class 3A Traditional State Finals in Macon.

The previous week, Lowe became the sole Tiger to qualify for the State Finals after finishing in the top six of the 132-pound weight class at the State Sectionals.

Alex Stewart, Landon Glander and Mason Rosenberg also participated at the State Sectionals after top-four finishes at the Area 7-3A Tournament.

In Macon, Lowe was one of 12 wrestlers in his weight class vying for the state championship, beginning his day facing Omar Hayes of Morgan County.

Lowe lost that match and then had a bye into his next one, which would be against Bregan Berry of Gilmer.

Lowe would also fall in that match, wrapping up his resilient junior season with a 15-20 overall record.
