Tiger golfer Levi Samples was selected to The Times of Gainesville's 2013 All-Area team as an honorable mention.

Samples qualified for the State Sectionals with the lowest individual score of a non-qualifying team at the Region 7-AAA tournament in April. His 85 placed him in a tie for 10th place.

"I could not be more excited for Levi though. He is a senior and now he has the opportunity to shine at the highest level in the state," said Coach Wes Greer.

On the tough course at Reunion Country Club in Hoschton, Samples shot an 18-hole total of 91 to finish in the middle of the pack at the state tournament.

Gainesville High School's Pep Brown was selected All-Area Boys Golfer-of-the-year. The senior, who led Gainesville to a 10-0 record and a state championship, was the low medalist at the Region 8-AAAAA tournament.

Dawson County Lady Tiger Madison Caldwell was named the region's Girls Golfer-of-the-Year after capturing the Region 7-AAA crown and placing fifth at the Class AAA state tournament. She was also named to the Class AAA All-State team.
