The Dawson County Lady Tigers varsity girls' basketball team bowed out of the state tournament after falling 70-64to Laney High School in Augusta Tuesday night.

Despite leading 33-26 at the half, the Lady Tigers found themselves begind 46-43 after three quarters and were unable to make up the deficit in the fourth quarter.

Both teams were No. 1 teams out of their respective regions going into the game.

Due to both teams' high ranking, a coin toss on Sunday decided who was the home team.

The Lady Tigers ended their season with a 29-1 record. The best in school history.
