The Dawson County Lady Tigers varsity girls' basketball team defeated Dodge County by a score of 71-40 to advance to the Elite Eight round of the state tournament.

The team will face off next week against Laney High School.

Laney High School defeated Pepperrell High School on Saturday to also advance.

Since both teams are the No. 1 teams out of their respective regions, there will be a coin toss on Sunday to decide who will be the home team.

If Laney wins the toss, the game will be played on Wednesday at Laney. If Dawson County wins, the game will likely be played on Tuesday at Dawson County High School.

Ashley Parker and Sheyenne Seabolt led the Lady Tigers in scoring with 18 points each.

The Lady Tigers improved their record to 29-0 on the season with the victory.
