Lady runners finish sixth

The Lady Tigers picked up a sixth place finish at the East Jackson Eagle Invitational March 3.

The team racked up 27.6 points.

Parkview, Class AAAAA, finished first with 166 points. Loganville High School came in second with 68.6 points. Fifteen teams competed in the event.

Other schools running in the meet were: Athens Christian, Jefferson, Oglethorpe County, Rabun County, Habersham Central, Commerce, East Jackson and Banks County.

Senior Lady Tiger Kimberly Wallace had a huge day.

Wallace captured the long jump title with a jump of 15'4."

She also finished in third place in the triple jump with a leap of 30'11.75."

Wallace totaled 16 points in the two events for the Lady Tigers.

Dawson County discus thrower Hayden Wilson came in second place with a huge throw of 105'9." Wilson scored 8 points for the team.

Teammate Kristy Martin finished in sixth place in the discus, earning 1 point, with a throw of 88'11."

The Lady Tiger 4x800-meter relay team of Rachel Gloeckner, Taylor Grindstaff, Caroline Lee and Savanna Estes finished in fifth place with a time of 11:51.68, earning 2 team points.

In the pole vault, Shelby Whitaker tied for fifth place and earned 0.6 points.

Whitaker had a vault of 6'6."

The Lady Tigers will run in the prestigious Greater Atlanta Christian School Invitational on Saturday in Norcross. Field events will begin at 9 a.m.
