The Lady Tigers softball team split games last week in two big Region 7-AAA match-ups.

On Tuesday the team defeated Banks County, 6-3.

Joy Lewis was the winning pitcher. She recorded nine strikeouts and two walks. Lewis gave up just seven hits in the win.

Lewis also had a great day at the plate. She picked up two hits. Also recording multiple hit games were Martie Rogers, two hits, and Tabitha Morrison with three hits.

Driving in runs against the Lady Leopards were: Lewis with three RBIs, while Rogers and Morrison had one RBI each.

Also collecting hits for Dawson County were: Emily Hunsucker, Brooke Wende and Natalie Glass.

On Sept. 19, the team traveled to East Hall for a game with the Lady Vikings.

Earlier this season Dawson County defeated East Hall, 9-3, however Thursday's game was much different.

The Lady Tigers committed six errors in a 5-0 defeat.

Pitcher Martie Rogers recorded eight strikeouts, but suffered the loss. None of the East Hall runs were earned.

Offensively, it wasn't much better for Dawson as Savanna Haberkam collected the only hit for the Lady Tigers.

Up this week for the Lady Tigers will be White County on Thursday. Dawson County defeated White County by a 5-0 score earlier this season.

The game will also mark Senior Night at Jack Waldrip Field. First pitch will be at 5:55 p.m.

The Lady Tigers are currently 12-6 overall and 8-2 in Region 7-AAA play.

Pruett's team has a showdown with No. 1-ranked Buford Oct. 1 in Buford.
