The Dawson County Lady Tiger softball team finished the season with a 9-0 win over West Hall on Oct. 3.
The game was stopped due to the GHSA run-rule.

Offensively, Joy Lewis and Martie Rogers led Head Coach Jimmy Pruett's team. Lewis went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Rogers was 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs.

Also collecting hits were Katelynn Simpson, Brittany Phillips and Heather Brady.

Dawson County scored runs in each inning to get the Region 7-AAA victory.

On Oct. 1, the team traveled to play No. 1 ranked Buford who came into the game with a 24-1 record. The Lady Tigers dropped the contest 8-0 in five innings.

Martie Rogers struck out six Lady Wolves, but defensively the Lady Tigers committed four errors.

Dawson County finished the regular season with a 14-8 record.

The Lady Tigers were to compete in the Region 7-AAA tournament last Saturday at Lanier Point in Gainesville. A scheduling mishap with the umpires postponed the tournament to Monday.

Pruett's team opened the tournament against White County, who the team defeated twice during the regular season. If the Lady Tigers were to win they were scheduled to play the winner of East Hall and North Hall.

Scores were unavailable as of press time.
