Christian Daniel scored 10 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Dawson County Lady Tigers dropped a 46-29 contest to Union County last Tuesday in Blairsville.
The Lady Tigers also lost by a 73-43 score to non-region opponent Creekview last Saturday evening.
With the two losses Dawson fell to 4-10 overall.
“We could not get anything going in the first half against the Union County (10-5) pressure defense,” said Lady Tiger Head Coach Steve Sweat.
“We made some adjustments in the second half and was able to compete better, but it just wasn’t enough. Union has a good team with a big time scorer in Candace Williams,” Sweat added.
Williams led all scorers with 21 points in the contest.
The game Saturday was never a contest. Creekview’s (13-4) pressure was just too much for the Lady Tigers to handle.
This week Dawson will host Banks County (6-10) on Friday in an important Region 8-AA battle.
Tip-off will be at 7 p.m.
