The Dawson County High School Junior Varsity Tigers lost their opening game of the season 20-8 to Rabun County last Thursday afternoon.

Scotty Parker was the only bright spot on offense for Dawson County.

Parker scored on a 70-yard touchdown run. He then converted a 2-point conversion on a pass to Andrew Fleming. The score gave Dawson an 8-0 lead.

The lead was short lived as Rabun shut down the Tigers the rest of the game.

The Wildcats scored a touchdown just before halftime. They added another long run at the start of the second half to give them a 14-8 advantage.

Rabun added another touchdown in the fourth quarter to come away with the 20-8 victory.

The junior varsity Tigers will be in action again next week. The team will travel to Gilmer County for a match-up with the Bobcats.

Kick-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
