Dawson County High School junior varsity softball coach Nickie Rogers' team finished the 2011 season last week with an overall record of 3-7.

The Lady Tigers played the last game against Fannin County Sept. 27. Despite playing hard, the team lost 18-3.

Fannin used a huge second inning to ice the contest. The Lady Rebels scored 15 runs in the inning.

Dawson scored three runs in the second inning but it wasn't enough. Recording hits for the Lady Tigers were: Becca Monkus, Taylor Willoughby, Sam Keeney, Brittany Phillips and Anela Melton.

Taylor Shirley also picked up two walks.

"We learned a lot this season," Rogers said. "I think we got better as the year went along. We still have a long way to go. I really enjoyed coaching this team."
