The Dawson County High School junior varsity girls basketball team dropped a close game at East Hall on Friday afternoon.
The Lady Tigers lost 45-40, despite Madison Shope connecting on five, 3-pointers for a game-high 18 points.
Coach Anne Hyams’ team took a 14-11 first quarter lead, but managed only 4 points in the second quarter to fall behind 25-18 at half.
The Lady Tigers were not able to recapture the lead and fell by 5-points.
Also scoring for the Lady Tigers were: Kacie Bearden with 8 points, two, 3-pointers, Hayden Wilson with 6 points, Samie Smith added 4 points, Hannah Moye and Whitney Glover scored 2 points each.
The Lady Tigers will play at home against Rabun County on Friday before traveling to Union County next Tuesday.
Both games will start at 4 p.m.
