The Dawson County High School junior varsity boys basketball team continued its winning ways with a 45-43 win over Rabun County last Friday.
Dawson is currently 10-2 on the season and has one more regular season game remaining. The Tigers will take on Banks County at 5:30 p.m. Friday at home.
Against the visiting Wildcats, Dawson jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead in the first quarter. The Tiger offense went cold in the second quarter and Rabun fought back to take a 23-19 halftime lead.
Dawson managed only three points in the second quarter.
Dawson trailed, 33-31, after three quarters of play, despite the offensive explosion by Cameron Chester.
Chester scored 9-of-the-12 points during the seven minute span of the game.
The Tigers outscored Rabun 14-10 in the final quarter to take the win.
“We just found a way to take the lead and hold on to it,” said Head Coach Wes Greer. “I hope we can end on a positive note with a win over Banks this Friday.”
