Both the boys and girls golf teams finished the season with wins last week.

Coach Van Samples took his team to a very difficult course, Old Union, in Blairsville to face Union County on April 16.

Behind scores of 45 from both Levi Samples and Trevor Gordon, the Tigers won a close match 184-185. Also posting scores in the 9-hole match were Clay Glover and Casey Compton, who both shot a 47.

The Lady Tigers were also victorious. The team cruised to a 93-112 win.

Maddy Caldwell led the team with a 9-hole total of 38.

Teammate Tatum Turner posted a 53 for Dawson County.

These were two crucial wins as both teams will compete in the Region 8AA tournament this week.

The girls played at Scales Creek in Homer on Monday, while the boys team will travel to Braselton to play at the Traditions course on Tuesday.

Scores were not available as of press time.
