Golfers are 13-3

The Dawson County High School golf team is currently 13-3 on the season.

The team played in a tri-match with Buford and Chestatee on March 27. The Tigers defeated Chestatee, 180-189, but lost to the Wolves, 170-180.

Levi Samples and Jake Phillips both shot a 43 over the nine-hole match. Also scoring for Dawson were Casey Compton with a 45 and Will Anglin with a 49.

The team traveled back to Gainesville on March 28 for a match with East Hall and West Hall at Chicopee Woods Golf Club.

Dawson pulled out two wins defeating East Hall by 25 strokes, 165-190, and demolishing West Hall, 165-230.

Low medalist for the Tigers was Casey Compton with a spectacular 39.

Will Anglin came in with a 41, Jake Phillips-42 and Levi Samples-43.

Coach Wes Greer's team was off last week for spring break, with action starting back Monday in the Eagle Invitational at Crystal Falls Golf Club. Results were not available as of press time.
