Golf team sees success

The Dawson County High School boys' golf team continues to play well. Last week, the Tigers picked up wins over Buford on March 10, and Gilmer and Fannin counties on March 11.

Against Buford, David Ford led Dawson County with a nine-hole total of 40 at Chateau Elan Golf Club. The Tigers pulled out a 169-184 victory over the Wolves.

On March 11, the Tigers played at Crystal Falls against Fannin and Gilmer counties. Dawson County defeated Fannin 163-218 and Gilmer 163-203.

Tiger Jake Phillips was low medalist with a 37 over nine holes of play. Phillips was followed by John Pulley and Hunter Burt both with 40s, and David Ford with a 46.

Dawson County is currently 7-0 on the season.

Up next for the Tigers is a match on Saturday at the Gordon Lee Invitational. The tournament will be played at Canyon Ridge Golf Club and will be an 18-hole event.
