Coach Mark Ragsdale's junior varsity girls' basketball team tallied a 1-1 record over the last week.
The Lady defeated Pinecrest Academy, 51-13, on Dec. 9 before losing, 47-44, at Towns County on Dec. 10.
Against Pinecrest the Lady Tigers opened up a 30-4 lead after two quarters of play. Dawson used a pesky defense to shutout Pinecrest in the third quarter, allowing them zero points.
The game was well in hand as the Lady Tigers cruised to an easy 38-point win.
Jordan Moore led the Lady Tigers in scoring with 16 points. Also scoring in double figures was Cassidy Lecours with 12 points.
Lady Tigers scorers: Moore - 16 points, Lecours - 12 points, Madison Shope - 9 points, Alison Honea - 6 points, Hannah Moye - 4 points, Emily Ayers - 2 points and Brooke Wende - 2 points.
The team traveled to Towns County on Saturday for a match-up with the Lady Indians.
The game was close throughout, but the Lady Tigers were unable to capture a lead before falling by 3-points.
Towns opened up its biggest lead at halftime, 25-17.
The Lady Tigers fought back in the third quarter and cut the lead to 35-30. The Lady Indians then hit some clutch free throws down the stretch to come away with the victory.
Madison Shope was the only Lady Tigers to score in double digits. She netted 15 points.

The Junior Varsity Lady Tigers will be back in action at 4 p.m. Friday with a home game against Lumpkin County. The team will then be off until after the Christmas break.
