The Dawson County High School junior varsity girls basketball team remains undefeated following a 31-19 win over Fannin County on Friday.

Coach Anne Hyams' team is currently 12-0 on the season.

Despite trailing 12-11 at halftime, the Lady Tigers rallied in the third quarter to outscore the Lady Rebels 10-3 to hold a 21-15 lead.

Dawson County's defense continued to pressure Fannin County and hold the visitors to only four points in the final quarter to extend the team's winning streak.

"I was disappointed with our performance in the first half, as we played with very little intensity and didn't make our cuts on offense. The girls began putting more pressure on Fannin during the second half, which allowed us to take a commanding lead," Hyams said.

Haley Burgess, Peytan Porter and Brooke Wende led the Lady Tigers in scoring with six points each.

Also putting up points were: Eliza Sillesky with five points, Katelynn Simpson added four points and Emily Queen scored four points.

Up next for Dawson County will be a 4 p.m. game Friday at home against East Hall.
