Dawson County High School junior varsity girls head coach Anne Hyams' Lady Tigers improved their record to 8-0 with a decisive win of West Forsyth last week.

Tied at 6-6 after one quarter of play, the Lady Tigers used some stingy defense in the Dec. 20 game to limit West to only one second quarter point.

Dawson County scored 10 points to take a, 16-7, halftime lead.

The offense exploded in the third quarter. Dawson County outscored West, 17-4, to put the game out of reach and establish a, 33-11, lead.

Brooke Wende led the Lady Tigers in scoring with 10 points.

Also entering the scoring column were: Haley Burgess - seven points, Katelynn Simpson - six points, Tabitha Morrison - six points, Jordan Moore - four points, Emily Queen - three points, Lauren Burgess - two points and Ansley Costley added two points.

After taking a break for the holiday, the Lady Tigers will play their next game on Jan. 4 at East Hall.

Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
