Forester named all region
Bywaletz, Lecours make honorable mention list

Tiger cross country runner Dylan Forester was selected to the Region 7-AAA coaches All-Region first team last week.

The list of recipients was selected by the coaches in the region.

Forester joined an elite company of runners; including, Whit Nix, 7-AAA runner of the year from North Hall; Tucker Locicero, Bryce Schuebert and Seth Chapman all also from North Hall; Austin Thompson of White County and Jose Diaz of Banks County.

The Dawsonville junior runner ran a personal best time of 16:15.08 this season in the 5,000-meter race.

Forester finished in ninth place overall at the state meet in Carrollton and in fifth place at the region meet at Unicoi State Park.

He picked up two wins at the Buford Invitational and at the Mountain Eagle Invitational this season. Forester finished the season with nine, top 10 finishes.

Dawson County runner Chris Bywaletz was selected to the honorable mention All-Region team.

Joining Bywaletz on the team were: Kolin Harkins and Destin Milum from White County, Tuan Pham of Banks County, Avery Webster of Buford and Corson Teasley from North Hall.

Bywaletz set a personal best time of 17:02.42 this season. He crossed the finish line at the 7-AAA region meet with a 15th place finish.

Bywaletz also came in 39th place at the state meet.

On the girls' side, Cassidy Lecours, earned a place on the honorable mention team for the Lady Tigers.

Lecours placed 24th at the region meet. Her personal best time was 22:03.56.

Also named to the girls' honorable mention team were: Bailey Roberts and Lane Crawford from Buford, Caroline Dickey and Savannah Mendenhall from North Hall and Sinead O'Bryant from White County.

Region 7-AAA female runner-of-the year was Jenna Gearing from White County.
