Forester leads Tiger runners
Places 4th in Helen

Dawson County High School Tiger cross country runner Dylan Forester ran a great race at the prestigious Mountain Invitational meet at Unicoi State Park in Helen last week.

Forester posted a time of 16:48 to take fourth place in the Oct. 4 race that included 199 runners.

Forester led the Dawson County team to a 16th place team finish with 445 points out of 29 teams at the 3.1-mile course.

Witt Nix from North Hall won the individual title with a 16:32 finish. Nix was followed by teammate Bryce Schuebert who crossed the finish line with a time of 16:34.

Other members of the Tigers who completed the tough course were: Chris Bywaletz with a 51st place finish and a time of 18:13, Jake Hafermalz (19:09), Quade Buytendorp (19:54), Avery Cowart (20:11), Mason Carr (20:40) and Cole Simmons (21:27).

Winning the team title was North Hall High School with 30 points.

The Trojans were followed by South Forsyth with 156 points.

The team will compete Wednesday at the Buford Invitational.
