Five land on list
Captain/team MVP honored

The Times of Gainesville announced its All-Area soccer team last week.

Dawson County was well represented, with five players being named to the team.

Named first team was Tiger Cody Hall.

Hall was a senior defender for head coach Jed Lacey's Dawson County team.

Hall was a 3-year captain and made the first team 8-AA team. This past season Hall was the team's MVP.

Junior Gunnar Armstrong made the All-Area second team. The Tiger defender was also nominated for 8-AA All-Region.

Brooks Fulford, sophomore, Josh Lund, junior, and Stanton Rogers, senior, all made the honorable mention list.

Gainesville High School's Aidan Reising was named boys soccer player-of-the-year.

Reising scored 11 goals with 18 assists for the Red Elephants last season. He will play at Georgia Southern next year.

Boys Soccer Coach of the Year went to East Hall's Chris Horton.

Joining Reising and Hall on the first team were: Jose Lara, senior, Habersham Central; Ryan Marcano, sophomore, Riverside; Dillon Martin, senior, North Hall; Jonathan Mendoza, junior, Johnson; Saul Lopez, junior, East Hall; Marco Rebollar, junior, Chestatee; Ramon Salamanca, senior, North Hall; Nathan Dillard, senior, Gainesville; and Luis Teran, senior, Flowery Branch.

Selected for the second team were: Charlie Bryant, senior, Gainesville; John Hatch, senior, Chestatee; Michael Herrin, senior, Chestatee; Matt Lewis, senior, West Hall; Ricardo Madero, sophomore, Riverside; Leo Manzo, senior, Flowery Branch; Douglas Mejia, junior, Gainesville; Jason Mendoza, sophomore, East Hall; Edgar Ochoa, senior, Johnson; and Alex Paramo, junior, Habersham Central.
