Dotson, Bearden lead teams

Head Coach Van Samples’ Dawson County High School boys and girls golf teams are heading in the right direction. Both the boys and girls teams picked up wins against visiting Jackson County on March 21 at Chestatee Golf Club in Dawsonville.

 

Rachel Dotson had the low score for the girls with a 9-hole total of 50. Lady Tiger teammate, Tayler Hasbrouck, was close behind with a 51 on a beautiful day at Chestatee.

 

The girls came away with a 168-182 win over the Lady Panthers.

 

On the boys’ side, Dawson won impressively with a 101-113 win over the Panthers.

 

Wesley Bearden led the way for the Tigers with a 42. Following Bearden were John Chameli with a 43, Casey Compton carded a 48 and Caleb Samples scored a 49.

 

Both teams will play at 4 p.m. today at Double Oaks Golf Club in Commerce against East Jackson and Oglethorpe County.

 

The last match before Spring Break will be at 4 p.m. Thursday agsinst Forsyth Central High School at Chestatee Golf Club in Dawsonville.
