The Dawson County News, in collaboration with Dawson County High School, will host the inaugural “Fall Sports Media Day” on Thursday, July 29 at 2 p.m.
“I’ve done this at other school systems I have coached at and really think this is a great move for us,” DCHS athletic director Bradley Fowler said. “These students love to be recognized and deserve to be recognized.”
The high school hosts five fall sports: competitive cheerleading, cross country, football, softball and volleyball. Each sport will be represented by a head or assistant coach alongside two players. DCN staff will Livestream the event and interview each team to give viewers and readers insight on what to expect out of each team in the coming season.
Both cross country and softball will introduce their new head coaches at the event. Jonathan Tinsley is taking over the cross country program and Justin Rickett will take the reins from Jimmy Pruett, who is retiring from coaching.
DCHS will host the event in the lobby of the Performing Arts Center.
