Last week the Dawson County High School wrestling team defeated Johnson High School at home.

The original event was scheduled with Johnson and Lithonia, but Lithonia did not compete.

The Tigers won 60-24 at home on Dec. 5.

Next up for Dawson County was the Union County Duals but that event was not held due to weather.

Dawson will travel to Jefferson today for a tri-meet with Jefferson and Lumpkin County.

“Should be a great, but hard going night of wrestling,” Coach Arron Haynes said. “Jefferson has won almost 20 consecutive state titles and Lumpkin who has already beaten us this season was the area champion last year. We have our work cut out for us.”

On Dec. 16, the Tigers will head to North Forsyth High School for the Coal Mountain Classic and on Dec. 19 will travel to White County before the Christmas break.
