Dawson County wrestling hosts Amicalola Classic

The Dawson County wrestling team hosted the annual Amicalola Classic this past weekend. The two day tournament lasted all day Dec. 28-29 and saw several Tiger wrestlers win big.

Junior Kelton LeBaron was champion in the 120 pound division, and seniors Brandon Jones and Jake Williams were champions in the 160 and 285 weight classes respectively.

Junior Wyatt Smith and senior Nate Umberger were runners-up in the 132 and 182 weight classes respectively.

Christian Harper, 138, and junior Levi Baggett, 170, earned third place and juniors Robbie Rarick, 152, and Jake Cupp, 195, earned fourth.

As a team, the Dawson County Tigers took home third place, trailing behind East Hall at first place and Heritage of Conyers in second. Sequoyah High School took home fourth.

The Dawson County varsity wrestlers will travel to Jackson County for area duals next week.
