The annual Amicalola Wrestling Classic is this weekend at Dawson County High School.
In its 28th year, the competition is a major event on wrestling calendars for teams in Georgia.
The Dawson County High School Tigers will compete against teams like East Hall, Fannin County, Mount Vernon, West Forsyth and two teams from North Carolina.
Format for the event will be team duals on Friday, followed by a double elimination traditional tournament on Saturday.
Matches begin at 9 a.m. both days.
Tigers Coach Arron Haynes organized the meet and thanked the local booster club, volunteers, local businesses and staff for their help in "hosting one of the best tournaments in the state. I am blessed with great help and great assistant coaches that make it all run smoothly."
Haynes said hopes his team will take experience gained at meet to next weekend's Area Dual tournament.
"We are looking to continue on our good season," he said.
