Caldwell leads girls

Madison Caldwell shot an 18-hole total of 77 to lead the Dawson County Lady Tigers golf team to the Region 7-AAA title last week.

Caldwell was also low-medalist and won the individual title.

The Lady Tigers won the title easily, by 33-strokes, over runners-up Franklin County.

Dawson County shot 277 as a team to the Lady Lions 310.

Caldwell edged out region runner-up Sydney Bates from Lumpkin County, who finished the 18-hole event with an 80.

Lady Tiger teammate Tatum Pruitt posted a 97 to finish in fourth place.

Rounding out the scoring was: Sydney Morgan with a 103 and Hannah McConnell with a 109.

Morgan finished in seventh place and McConnell finished in 12th.

The girl's team will now advance to the state meet, which will be played May 18 at Horseshoe Bend Country Club in Roswell.
