The Dawson County High School ninth grade Tigers football team defeated White County, 14-0, in Cleveland on Oct. 7.
"The defense really came to play on Monday," head coach Mark Thomason said.
Dawson County's defense caused a fumble by linebacker Trey Dixon early in the game. Tiger Jacob Scoggins came up with the recovery.
The Tigers first touchdown was set up by a punt block by linebacker Taylor Cronan.
Wide receiver Dalton Tierney scored the touchdown on a 14-yard pass from quarterback Colin Glover.
Running back Luke Martin scored the second touchdown in the second quarter on an 8-yard run.
The 2-point conversion was good by Peyton Meyers.
"I thought that linebacker Luke Martin also played a great game," Thomason added.
The ninth grade Tigers will be back in action at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Fannin County.
