The No. 8 ranked in Class AAA Dawson County High School varsity boys soccer team recorded a 4-0 win over Rabun County on Friday night at Tiger Stadium.

Dawson County jumped out fast and scored a goal off the foot of Josh Lund only four minutes into the game. Jose Miranda recorded the assist.

The Tigers scored less than a minute later off the foot of junior Cole Edwards. It was the first goal of Edwards' career.

Edwards added another score just before halftime that gave Dawson County a commanding 3-0 lead at intermission.

"Cole Edwards has been a great addition to this team. He brings such an even calmness to this team and a great skill set," said head coach Jed Lacey.

Dawson County added a final goal at the 36:46 mark of the second half. Josh Lund passed the ball to Sam Muenchen who slammed the ball into the back of the net.

"We looked really good against a scrappy Rabun team," said Lacey. "When you play Rabun you are going to have to work for 80 minutes.

"I think our speed just caught Rabun off guard. We are blazing fast. This is the most depth we have ever had here in six years," he added.

Tiger goalie Brooks Fulford picked up his first shutout this season.

"Overall Brooks did great in goal with some great saves and he is now become a leader in his third year of starting," Lacey said.

The team will be back in action at 7:30 p.m. Friday night at Stephens County.
