The Dawson County fishing duo of Buddy Benson and Braedon Hubbard have continued to show their angling expertise this summer, participating at two events in June.
They began their summer slate with a winning performance at the two-day Bass Nation High School State Championship at Lake Hartwell, with an aggregate weight of 32.8 pounds.
Later that month, the duo went over to Alabama to fish at the High School Fishing World Finals and National Championship at Lake Pickwick.
At a four-day event with 435 teams, the Dawson team finished 13th at the national championship event before finishing sixth at the world championship.
The world event featured teams from around the globe from Canada to Africa.
Next up, the team will head back to Lake Hartwell to participate at the Bass Nation High School National tournament from Wednesday, Aug. 10, to Friday, Aug. 12.
