Dawson County senior golfer Wesley Bearden was recently named Second Team All-Area by the Gainesville Times. Bearden scored a season average of 78 for the Tigers.

Bearden will continue his career at North Georgia College & State University next season.
Aaron George of Lumpkin County was named player of the year for the area.

George finished third in the state in AAA and is a two-time region champion. He posted a season scoring average of 71.1.

Joining George on the first team were: Andy Bracewell, North Hall; Parks Brown, Gainesville; Will Franklin, Gainesville; John Luna, White County; and Ryan Matthews, North Hall.

Named to the second team were: Tanner Baston, Habersham Central; Pep Brown, Gainesville; Josh Foster, Johnson; Luke James, Johnson; and Austin Klee, Riverside Military Academy.

Achieving honorable mention were: Reeves Bell, Gainesville; Jackson Berry, North Hall; Jackson Bishop, Gainesville; Austin Booker, Lumpkin County; Carson Brown, Gainesville; Jay Brooks, Habersham Central; Matthew Cindea, Gainesville; Eli Crumley, White County; York Delloyd, Jackson County; Joseph Jarrard, Lumpkin County; Grant Lasseter, Gainesville; Chris Matthews, North Hall; Thomas Whitley, Jackson County; and Hunter Young, North Hall.
