Four members of the Dawson County varsity boys basketball team recently received recognition as Region 7-3A All-Region selections.

This story continues below.

Trey Harvey, Caden Reed, Ethan Parker and Joshua Priest all earned All-Region spots after leading the Tigers during a season where the quartet of juniors accounted for nearly 86% of the team’s total points.

Harvey heads the group with a First Team honor, having averaged over 15 points and nearly eight rebounds per game.

His style of play — defined by his quick passes, hard drives and hustle on both sides of the floor — helped shape the team’s approach.

While his signature contributions were his aggression inside and three-point shots, his awareness off the ball and on the defensive end helped the team stay competitive even in defeat.

Harvey finished the season leading the team with 411 attempted shots, 69 made free throws and 22 blocks.

Reed earned a Second Team spot after averaging nearly 17 points per game.

A smooth shooter and smart passer, Reed was able to score from nearly any angle — and was particularly strong from mid-range.

Much like Harvey, Reed was a strong communicator on the court and used his length to become a defensive presence.

By the end of the season, Reed led the team with 170 made shots, a 76% mark at the free throw line, and 12 drawn charges.

Parker and Priest each earned Honorable Mention nods after becoming consistent producers on the team.

In contrast to the more conspicuous stat lines of Harvey and Reed, Parker proved to be the team’s utility man, with much of his work done off the ball.

Whether it was setting up screens, finding passing lanes or causing turnovers on defense, Parker was the scrappy fighter the Tigers needed to win games or stay close.

Despite averaging only around eight points and four rebounds per game, Parker had a solid shot and was often willing to facilitate. He led the team with 4.2 assists per game.

Priest was the team’s three-point specialist, leading the Tigers with 71 made shots from deep.

His ability to find space and create for others was important in allowing the team to keep scoring margins close, especially when the team had bench players on the floor.

Priest was also a solid rebounder, using his height to maintain possession for the Tigers in critical moments.

With all four of these players returning next season, they will look to once again earn places on the All-Region team.
