Dawsonville Racers compete

The Dawsonville Racer swim team competed at the District 7 swim meet at the Ruby Fulbright Aquatic Center in Clarkesville last week.

Coach Stephanie Morgan's team was very successful at the July 7 event, sending seven swimmers to the state Park and Recreation Meet in Tifton July 17-18.

Earning state berths with a first place finish were Elliott Kinsey (boys 7-8) in the 25-yard breaststroke with a time of 30.19 and the 25-yard backstroke, Brooke Dare (18 and under girls) in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 37.73, Isabelle Kinsey (10 and under girls) in the 25-yard backstroke with a winning time of 17.78 and Aidan Kudlas (12 and under boys) in the 100-yard IM with a time of 1:25.87.

Taking second place and qualifying for state were Carsyn Kudlas (girls 7-8) in the 25-yard freestyle, Aiden Kudlas (boys 12 and under) in the 50-yard breaststroke and Brooke Dare (18 and under girls) in the 50-yard backstroke.

The top two swimmers in each race qualify for the state competition.

Dawsonville had several swimmers compete at district, including:

Maddie Siuta (25-yard breaststroke and 25-yard backstroke)

Carsyn Kudlas (25-yard breaststroke)

10 and under boys:

Payte Rucker (25-yard freestyle and 25-yard backstroke)

Jacob Jones (25-yard freestyle and 25-yard breaststroke)

10 and under girls:

Abbie Hilchie (50-yard freestyle and 25-yard breaststroke)

Breanna Kudlas (25-yard breaststroke and 100 IM)

Isabelle Kinsey (25-yard breaststroke)

12 and under girls:

Ella Siuta (50-yard freestyle and 50-yard breaststroke)

Addie Rucker (50-yard freestyle and 50-yard breaststroke)

Sydney Long (50-yard freestyle and 50-yard breaststroke)

12 and under boys:

Avery Hout (50-yard freestyle and 50-yard backstroke)

Logan Buytendorp (50-yard freestyle and 50-yard breaststroke)

14 and under girls:

Adrienne Hilchie (100 IM and 50-yard butterfly)

14 and under boys:
