Winston H. Harben

Winston H. Harben, 79, of Dawsonville, died Aug. 11, 2013.

Born to the late William Boyd and Ethel Harben, he had been a resident of the Juno area his entire life.

An avid hunter and outdoorsman, Mr. Harben served in the U.S. Army during the 1950s, where he was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas.

He had a degree from Pickens Technical College in machine work and had been employed at numerous shops in the area.

His brother, Maynard Harben; and a sister, Lavon Long, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Fran Harben of Woodstock, Daren and Angi Harben of Athens; grandsons, London Harben, Nick Harben; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at noon Aug. 14, in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Weldy officiating. Interment followed in the Juno Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
