William Norris McWhorter, 86, of Dawsonville, died March 2, 2016.

Born in Forsyth County, he was the son of the late William and Kate McWhorter.

Norris worked for Lockheed for 20 years and then started his own company, NorRal Aerospace.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who will be greatly missed.

His sister, Behre Bell, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Helen McWhorter of Dawsonville; sons, Tony and Jessica McWhorter of Canton, John and Teresa McWhorter of Cumming, David and Tera McWhorter of Dahlonega; brother, Gerald and Elaine McWhorter of Marietta; grandchildren, Amy McCloskey, Jesse McWhorter and Matthew McWhorter; five great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. March 5 in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral home. Internment followed at Old Roswell Cemetery.

McDonald and Son Funeral Home of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
