W.A. Wofford

W.A. Wofford, 83, of Dawsonville, died Sept. 11, 2013.

Born May 22, 1930 in Forsyth County to the late Truman and Lola Wofford, he had lived in Dawson County since 1957, having moved from Hall County.

Mr. Wofford retired as a heavy equipment operator for road construction.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

His wife, Lavell Wilson Wofford, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children, Douglas and Vickie Wofford of Dawsonville, Bradley and Judi Cochran of Gainesville; grandson, Dustin Wofford and his wife, Sandy; sisters, Renia Martin of Winder, Joyce Barnes of Gainesville; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sept. 13 at Liberty Baptist Church with the Revs. Dennis Bottoms, Rual Martin and Cecil Reeves officiating. Interment followed in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
