Virginia Looper Taylor, 90, of Alpharetta, died July 7, 2017.
Born Sept. 11, 1926 in Kennesaw, to the late William and Rosa Lee Robertson, she lived in Dawson County for more than 20 years before moving to Atlanta and then to Alpharetta.
For several years, while in Dawson County, Virginia worked as the personnel director for Sweet-Orr.
She retired from Emory Dunwoody Medical Center after 23 years of service.
Virginia was very devoted to her family and enjoyed supporting her son and grandson performing their music.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Her son, Randy Looper; daughter, Melody Looper Collins; son-in-law, Mark Haselton; sisters, Bessie and Callie; and brother, Grady, Ralph, James and Robert, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughters, Vicki Looper of Cumming, Pam Haselton of Alpharetta; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Lisa Taylor of Cumming; son-in-law, Jimmy "Ruff" Collins of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Jennifer and Eugene Burt, Dustin McElroy; great-grandchildren, Natalie Burt and Andrew Burt; various other relatives also survive.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. July 15 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cory Gilleland officiating. Interment will follow in the Dawsonville City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
