Velma Lewis, 87, of Alpharetta (Cherokee County), died Friday, April 3, 2009.

Her husband, Olen S. Lewis; and son, Danny Lewis preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Gary Lewis of Alpharetta; grandchildren, Pam Lark, David Lewis, Dana Jenkins, Matthew Lewis, all of Cumming, Mitchell Lewis of Carnesville; great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Lark, Austin Lark, Lauren Jenkins, Todd Jenkins, Emily Lewis, Allyson Lewis, Olivia Lewis and D'Laina Bales all of Cumming, Brookely Lewis, Michelle Lewis, both of Carnesville; sister, Jean Monroe of Florida; brothers, Bobby Monroe of Dawsonville, John Hugh Monroe of Buford; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday, April 5 at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Gerral Richards, Bobby Padgett and J.W. Watson officiating.

Interment followed in Holbrook Campground Cemetery.

Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
