Tony Simmons, 53, of Dawsonville, died Dec. 10, 2014.

Born Nov. 4, 1961 to the late Troy Lee and Dorothy Simmons, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.

Mr. Simmons was a member of Goshen Baptist Church and worked with the Dawson County Road Department for more than 10 years.

A loving father, grandfather, friend and car enthusiast, he enjoyed building engines with his son and spending time with his granddaughters.

His brother, Terry Simmons, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Kari Simmons of Dawsonville; granddaughters, Cheyenne, Sierra and Savannah Simmons; nephew, Stanley Simmons of Dawsonville; niece, Jeannie Simmons-Schuetze of Canton; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Dec. 13 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clyde Boling officiating. Interment followed in the Goshen Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requested that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
