Thomas Bielski, 62, of Cumming, died May 31, 2014.

He was born to the late Robert and Lorraine Bielski in Milwaukee, Wis., on July 13, 1951.

Tom graduated from Oak Creek High School in 1969 and went on to receive his bachelor's degree in communication from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.

He married Cindy in 1984 and lived in Honey Creek, Wis., until their move to Cumming in 1997.

Tom retired from General Motors and went on to pursue his lifelong dream of being a musician.

He graduated from the bass guitar program at the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media and for a short time played with Mr. Blue Roads band.

Survivors include his loving wife, Cindy; his children, Sarah and Samuel Bielski of Cumming, Lauren Sullivan of Wisconsin; seven brothers and sisters; Mark Bielski of Dawsonville, Jan Rios, Peggy Ugowski, Robert Bielski, Rick Bielski, Lori Olson and Kurt Bielski, all of Wisconsin; various other relatives also survive.

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. June 6 at McDonald and Son Funeral Home in Cumming.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to The Forsyth County Humane Society or the VH1 Save the Music Foundation.

McDonald and Son Funeral Home of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
