Sherman Wallace

Sherman Wallace, 83, of Dalton, died Nov. 6, 2010.

 

He was the son of the late Glen and Estelle Stephens Wallace.

 

His brother, Billy Wallace, preceded him in death.

 

Sherman was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II and was a member of the Dalton First Baptist Church.

 

Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Edwina Grogan Wallace of Dalton; children and their spouses, Connie and Mike Murphy of Gainesville, Andrew and Charmagne Wallace of Chatsworth, Gary Wallace of Atlanta, Steven Wallace of Gainesville, Fla.; sister, Gail Wright of Dawsonville; sister-in-law, Joyce Wallace of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Patrick Murphy, Paula Murphy, Kelly Fitzpatrick, Lauren Fitzpatrick, William Fitzpatrick; great-grandchildren, Colin Murphy, Emily Fitzpatrick, Lauren Fitzpatrick; various other relatives also survive.

 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Dalton First Baptist Church with the Revs. Phillip Cannon and Billy Nimmons officiating. Burial followed in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials were requested made to the Dalton First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 827, Dalton, GA 30722-0827.
