Samuel "Sam" Coats, 70, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 22, 2012.

He retired from Billy Howell Ford as a service advisor after many years of service.

Sam will always be remembered as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Coats of Dawsonville; children, Keith and Denise Coats of Dallas, Tracy Rich of Canton, Kerry and Tammy Coats of Cartersville, Craig and Amy Taylor of Statesboro, N.C., Amy and Brian Giles of Dawsonville, Melissa and Thomas Estes of Savannah; 11 grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Janice Coats of Griffin; sister and brother-in-law, Yvonne and Arbin Martin of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Feb. 25 at Roswell Cemetery with the Revs. L.C. Bennett and Jason Anglin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to the American Cancer Society, 6500 Sugarloaf Parkway, Suite 260, Duluth, GA 30097 or the American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Parkway, Marietta, GA 30067.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
