Robert "Bob" Gauss, 80, of Dawsonville, died May 28, 2010.

  

Born Nov. 21, 1929 in Marshall, Mich. to the late homer and Meredythe Gauss, he had lived in Dawson County for more than 30 years, having moved from Miami, Fla.

  

Mr. Gauss was a retired captain with Eastern Airlines with 32 years of service.

  

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.

  

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Anita Gauss of Dawsonville; children, Carol Smiley of Dawsonville, Robert Jr. and Ameli Gauss of San Antonio, Texas, Tina and Tobin McAfee of Charlotte, N.C.; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Charlotte Gauss of Sanford, Fla.; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

  

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. June 3 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jim Gaines officiating.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
