Richard Coleman, 65, of Gainesville, died June 7, 2013.

Born in Atlanta, he was the son of the late Jack and Jackie Coleman.

Richard retired as a manager for McDonald's restaurants.

During his 25 years with McDonald's he was responsible for opening a number of new restaurants in North Georgia.

He was an avid reader and actively involved in his church, McEver Road United Methodist Church.

Richard also was a passionate gardener - even producing a 300 pound pumpkin one year.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Linda Coleman of Gainesville; children, Heath and Kim Coleman of Cumming, Heather and Wilburn Etheridge of Suches, Michelle Brown of Gainesville, Melissa Jordan of Auburn; brothers, Tommy and Angie Coleman, Curtis and Suzi Coleman, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Ava, Bryn, Tiffany, Rebecca, Dakota, Levi, Matt; dogs, Watchrat, Mary Jane, Bulldog; cat, Pete; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. June 10 at McEver Road United Methodist Church in Oakwood.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to the Hall County Humane Society.

McDonald and Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
