Rene Samples, 49, of Dawsonville, died Oct. 23, 2014.

Born Jan. 15, 1965, she was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County. She attended Crossroads Baptist Church.

Her father, Lee Samples, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her mother, Louise Samples of Dawsonville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Douglas Bennett of Gainesville, Debbie and Ricky Holtzclaw of Dawsonville; brother and sister-in-law, Merle and Judy Samples of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Oct. 25 at Crossroads Baptist Church with the remains placed in state at 10 a.m. The Revs. Brody Hughes, Jason Hamby, Stephen Davis and Gerald Blackburn officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
