Regenia Pelfrey, 85, of Dawsonville, died Nov. 30, 2011.

Born Feb. 21, 1926, in Mineral Bluff to the late Otis and Willie Harper, she had lived in Dawson County since 1958, having moved from Smyrna.

A homemaker at her death, she was formerly employed at Lockheed and operated the Dawsonville Café.

She spent several years as a babysitter for many children, especially her grandchildren.

Her husband, J.M. Pelfrey and a sister, Geneva Henson, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Deborah Pelfrey of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Kendy and Todd Bennett, Travis and Jody Pelfrey; great-grandchildren, Taylor Bennett, Kane Pelfrey, Chloe Bennett, Emma Pelfrey; brother and sisters-in-law, Cecil and Bernice Harper of Mineral Bluff, Leroy and Dude Harper of Dawsonville, Mickey and Marlene Harper of McCaysville, Gary and Gayle Harper of Morganton; brother-in-law, Homer Henson of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Wehunt officiating. Interment followed in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations were requested made to the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 100 Lumpkin Campground Road, South, Dawsonville, GA 30534.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
