Ralph E. Cowart, 82, of Cumming, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009.

He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and Deacon for over 30 years.

He was also a Mason.

His mother, Mattie Tallant, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Imogene H. Cowart of Cumming; son, Jimmy E. Cowart of Cumming; granddaughter, Maryann Beck of Dawsonville; sisters and brother-in-law, Sylvia Heard of Cumming, Mildred and Bill Freeman; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Leverette and Sally Heard of Cumming; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 5 at 2 p.m. in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Bud Sutton, Ricky Byrd, Mark Akins and Carroll Pruitt officiating.

Interment followed at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
