Phillip Ellsworth Zarger, 72, of Dawsonville, died Jan. 22, 2019.

Phillip was born in 1946 to the late Chester “Ted” and Evalyn Louise Zarger.

He was an avid collector of coins, trading cards and stamps. Phillip worked in the automotive industry. While working in the industry, he helped launch various products for new vehicles. Phillip attended Great Lakes Bible College where he played on the basketball team. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Dawsonville.

Survivors include his children, Shelley (Mike) Hoard and Troy (Rocio) Zarger; four grandchildren, Addison Grace Hoard, Kennedy Hoard, Hailey Zarger and Isabella Zarger; former wife of 50 years, Pam Zarger; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Zarger were held at 2 p.m. Jan. 26 in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming with Dr. Jim Gaines officiating.

Interment followed at Sawnee View Gardens. The family received friends from 1 p.m. to the hour of service Jan. 26 at the funeral home.

Ingram Funeral Home of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
