Phillip A. Bryan, 69, of Dawsonville, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008 at his residence.

 

 

A native of Fulton County, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 29 years having moved from Marietta.

 

 

Mr. Bryan worked for many years at Lockheed, after which he was an insurance agent until his retirement.

 

 

He was co-founder of the Save A Youth Wilderness Program, was a member of the Gideon's, was a former guest columnist for a local newspaper and was a member of First Baptist Church of Dawsonville.

 

 

He possessed a strong Christian faith and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

 

 

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Sandra B. Bryan of Dawsonville; children, Lance Browder and Sara Strickland, Allan and Joanie Browder, Pam Elledge, Allyson and Clint Decker, all of Dawsonville; sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Max McLendon of Atlanta; brothers and sister-in-law, Doug Bryan of Key West, Fla., Dennis and Sandra Bryan of Flowery Branch; grandchildren, Lacy Browder, Kipp Browder, Justin and Brandy Browder, Savannah Browder, Dustin Ingram, Slayter Haney, Valen Decker; great-granddaughter, Ansley Browder; various other relatives also survive.

 

 

Funeral services were Sunday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bryan Lake officiating. Interment followed in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

 

 

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
