Peggy Highland Shaw, 75, of Doraville, died June 10, 2010.

Born March 10, 1935 in Lavonia, to the late Robert and Ovalene O'barr Highland, she had lived in Doraville for 53 years.

Mrs. Shaw retired from BellSouth after 30 years of service and was formerly active in the Norcross First Baptist Church and had served as a Cub Scout Den Mother.

She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Lavonia.

Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Cliff Shaw III of Dawsonville, Robert L. and Janie Shaw of Tucker, Gerald L. Shaw of Doraville; sister, Mary Highland Cooper of MacCLenny, Fla.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. June 12 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Casey Martin and Jason Hamby officiating. Interment services were held 4 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
